When: Late June - July, 8am - 4pm , M - F, Summer 2023 
Location: East Palo Alto
Pay: $23/hour, part-time, depending on education and experience

Job Description
​Program Leaders are the most valuable members of our organization! Summer Program leaders supervise, mentor, and assist girls ages 6-14 in our summer programs. Program leaders build meaningful relationships with our girls and serve both as a teacher and trusted mentors.

You will be a part of a culture of wellness and girl’s empowerment!
  • Our girls thrive among the positive, culturally-reflective female role models they meet through Girls to Women. With an approach which sees the girls' unique attributes and 'herstories' as cues to help us best serve them and their families.

You will be leading a culture of girls education!
  • Our program includes topics around cultural awareness, STEM, videography, science, story-telling, ecology, art, reading, health, crafts, computer projects, and field trips.​​


Qualifications and Expectations

Program Leader Qualifications
  • Experience facilitating activities with children and youth required
  • Ability to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in others
  • Passion for encouraging girls in their academic and creative interests
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities;
  • Discretion and trustworthiness with confidential matters relating to kids and their families;
  • Sensitivity to children’s needs;
  • TB test and fingerprint clearance.
Program Leader Expectations
  • Plan, modify, and deliver culturally relevant enrichment activitiesHelp girls build positive relationships;
  • Assist girls in grades 2-8 in activities;
  • Passion for designing and facilitating activities with children;
  • Work as a team member with staff;
  • Help create a safe, respectful learning and work environment;
  • Be a role model;
  • Facilitate conflict resolutions;
  • Promptness and dependability;
  • Shows flexibility, initiative, and creativity in all areas including problem solving;
  • Warm, positive, supportive attitude
