​Job Description

The Girls to Women Program Director manages the successful operation of the year-round Girls to Women program.

​Position: Program Director
Location: East Palo Alto
Pay: Full-time, depending on education and experience

You will be leading a culture of wellness and girl’s empowerment!
  • Our girls thrive among the positive, culturally-reflective female role models they meet through Girls to Women. With an approach which sees the girls' unique attributes and 'herstories' as cues to help us best serve them and their families.

You will be leading a culture of girls education!
  • Our program include programming around cultural awareness, STEM, videography, science, story-telling, ecology, art, reading, health, crafts, computer projects, community events, and field trips.

  • You are an experienced, trustworthy, educator who is driven to creating a safe, active, inspiring, and joyful culture for our participants, staff, and families.
  • You are comfortable being responsible for the overall management of our all-girl program, including staff-hiring and scheduling, spearheading program planning, coordinating field trips and consultants, keeping our spaces safe, and our girls and families happy.​​

Duties and Responsibilities
The Girls to Women Program Director is an experienced manager and educator with a broad range of duties and responsibilities. You are comfortable with being responsible for the overall management and implementation of all aspects of the Girls to Women program.

Leadership and staff management
  • You are an experienced, trustworthy, educator growth-focused leader.
  • You are passionate about creating a safe, active, inspiring, and joyful spaces.
  • You will be leading a culture of wellness and girl’s empowerment.
  • You will hire and supervising program leaders.
  • You will manage staff scheduling and hours tracking.
  • You will oversee the safe operations of our program site.
  • You will professionally address, communicate, and document issues as they arise.

Teaching and Lesson Planning and Program Coordination
  • You are a self-directed, responsible, organized, educator.
  • You are excited about girl’s education
  • You will lead and create intentional educational and community programs
  • You will create community partnerships to leverage services and audiences
  • You will give guidance and direction when needed
  • You will oversee the overall implementation and success of programs
  • You will lead coordination of field trips and consultants (transportation, volunteers, planning, consultants, supplies, etc)

  • You are an educator with leadership, community building, partnership, and teaching experience
  • You are comfortable making decisions, addressing conflict, and delegating.

  • You care deeply about meeting the needs the goals of our organization.
  • You measure your success by the growth you inspire in others.

Experience
  • 3 to 5 years experience in program coordination, education, event planning, non-profit, education or equivalent
  • 3 years professional work experience, preferred non-profit or education experience
  • Management experience, including oversight of multiple employees​​
