The Summer Program Director manages the successful operation of our all-girl flagship summer program serving girls ages 6-14 from in the East Palo Alto area. They are involved in the both the coordination and delivery of our programming. While the summer is underway, the Summer Program Director will be confidently leading programs alongside our other program leaders.

- You are comfortable being responsible for the overall management of our all-girl summer program, including staff-hiring and scheduling, spearheading program planning, coordinating field trips and consultants, keeping our spaces safe, and our girls and families happy.
- You are a growth-focused leader who is comfortable making decisions, addressing conflict, teaching staff, leading programs, mentoring girls, and empowering others.
- You can juggle many things at once, and care deeply about meeting the needs of both our girls, our staff, and the goals of our organization. You measure your success by the growth you inspire in others.

- Our program includes topics around cultural awareness, STEM, videography, science, story-telling, ecology, art, reading, health, crafts, computer projects, and field trips.
Duties and Responsibilities
Our Summer Program Director is an experienced manager and educator with a broad range of duties and responsibilities. You are comfortable with being responsible for the overall management and implementation of our all-girl summer program.
Leadership and staff management
- You are an experienced, trustworthy, educator growth-focused leader You are passionate about creating a safe, active, inspiring, and joyful spaces
- You will be leading a culture of wellness and girl’s empowerment,
- You will hire and supervising program leaders,
- You will manage staff scheduling and hours tracking
- You will oversee the safe operations of our program site
- You will professionally address, communicate, and document issues as they arise
Teaching and Lesson Planning and Program Coordination
- You are a self-directed, responsible, organized, educator
- You are excited about girl’s education
- You will lead a staff to create intentional curriculum with learning outcomes
- You will give guidance and direction when needed
- You will oversee the overall implementation and success of programs
- You will lead coordination of field trips and consultants (transportation, volunteers, planning, consultants, supplies, etc)

- You are an educator with leadership, lesson planning, and teaching experience

Experience
- 3 to 5 years experience in program coordination, education, event planning, non-profit, education or equivalent
- 3 years professional work experience, preferred non-profit or education experience
- Management experience, including oversight of multiple employees
